Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference
An after-school empowerment, self-care, and leadership program for girls in Coatesville from 7th - 12th grade run by Arts Holding Hands and Hearts, Inc.
We are so honored and excited to announce that AHHAH was selected as one of six finalists in the Great Dames 2024 Remarkable Ideas Competition for our Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference leadership program for girls in Coatesville! On July 23, AHHAH’s Executive Director Jan Michener joined five other finalists in a Virtual Pitch Event to share visionary ideas for empowering women and girls. We are so thankful to Great Dames, our SUSO team, and all who made this incredible moment possible!

About SUSO"Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference" is a 30-week, after-school program dedicated to giving Coatesville girls (7th - 12th grade) empowerment, self-care, and leadership training. This program was created to support the girls of Coatesville in order to shift the greater mental well-being of these girls from "fighting" to "leading." Through personal and community development, we hope to create a group of girls that are not only able to act on bettering their own physical and mental well-being, but are able to do that through the community as well. This program takes place on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:30 PM at the Coatesville YMCA through the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Any participant who is not already a member of the YMCA will receive a free membership. See below for session dates. Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference is one of AHHAH's Restorative Justice programs. Learn more about our other Restorative Justice programs and how to sponsor them by clicking the buttons below. SUSO is made possible in part by a grant from CCRES. |

Twelve INCREDIBLE Coatesville girls graduated as a part of AHHAH's first Step Up, Step Out, Make A Difference Summer Think-Tank leadership training. It was amazing to work with these wonderful girls, and watch them graduate from our first Think-Tank leadership training. One girl even said "ALL girls in Coatesville should take this program."
Thank you to Sandrien De-Bruijn for not only being a part of this program, but for also taking many of the wonderful photos for both the program and the celebration. Thank you to The Fund for Women and Girls for supporting this program and to The Alliance for Health and Equity for providing the space. |
