Film Making 101
Film Making 101 is a course rolled out by AHHAH as a program for youth of Chester County Juvenile Probation to have the opportunity to learn valuable media production skills for film. We have had the wonderful opportunity to bring in industry experts in fields of audio, photography, and even film robotics to teach our group how to create, inspire, and work as a team. This program is ten weeks, and runs through the Creative Club of Chester County at Midway Arts Building in Coatesville.
This is a teaser produced by our first Film Making 101 group.
Film Making 202
The participants are broken into two groups and each group creates their own business incorporating their interests and using some of the skills learned during Film Making 101. Each team chooses a name, creates a logo, analyzes the market and competition for their business, creates a marketing plan that includes an elevator speech, and creates a product that includes a video to share when they present at a presentation at the end of the second 10 weeks that will include officials in the judicial system, business entrepreneurs in the community, and selected community members.
Film making 303
This will be the creative team for the short that the team will create for the documentary “Invisible No More” Voices and lives of youth impacted by the carceral system. The youth who have taken 101 and 202 and choose to continue will receive a stipend as they create the documentary and will also be the assistants for the upcoming cohort of participants in the next Filmmaking 101 series. Shelley Hoffman, a 5 time Emmy Award winner for documentaries, will be one of the Executive Directors of this project.
