Head Start Programs
Story Time Yoga
Story Time Yoga incorporates yoga movement, breath, mindfulness and rest. This is done through story and song. Each month a theme topic is chosen and the practice highlights the theme. A book is chosen to support the theme and helps promotes AHHAHs goal of increasing literacy in our communities. Classes run from 30-45 minutes either weekly or monthly.
The yoga stories shared in Story Time Yoga capture the children's interest by the energy Amanda pours into each class. It's fun and entertaining. The children stay engaged by gathering together to read the book reinforcing the theme of the class. The children continue to sing the songs in the hallways and classrooms.

Move with Me
Move with Me at Head Start is a developmentally appropriate creative movement program that allows children to explore their creativity, gross motor skills, social and emotional awareness, self-regulation, and mindfulness. Classes include singing, joyful movement, dance concepts (space, level, speed, etc.), and lots of imagination!
Laura Boyer is a board certified dance/movement therapist with over 25 years of experience teaching dance to all ages. Her classes allow children to explore the joy of creative movement and dance in a safe, supportive environment. Through her classes, many shy children blossom, energetic children realize they can focus and control their bodies, and quite a few boys come to know dance as a wonderfully creative way to express their physicality while improving their strength and agility. Miss Laura stresses fun at all times, because we all learn more when we are having fun!
